Additionally, it is the location of several of Romania's UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Historic Center of Sighișoara, the Dacian Fortresses of the Orăștie Mountains, the Villages with fortified churches, and the Roșia Montană Mining Cultural Landscape.
